I have a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University. In addition, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon.
My professional experience includes working at:
-
Looking Glass homeless youth shelter
-
The Christie School as a residential treatment counselor
-
Child and Family Therapist in Vancouver, WA.
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, barbecuing, watching football, cooking, taking walks, and traveling.
The treatment strategies that I utilize in my practice includes; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy and Psychoeducational Therapy. My approach in counseling begins with building a strong relationship with my client. This is an important aspect of counseling, it begins by listening to my client's perspectives and setting goals cooperatively. It is important to look at all areas in one’s life (family systems, work, culture, activities, and relationships) to help create a workable treatment plan. By having respect for each individual, it is my ultimate goal to help my clients develop tools for themselves that can be utilized outside of therapy for years to come.
